Reteach offers courses Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) for people who want to prepare  to work or study in the Netherlands. Reteach offers individually tailored small-scale quality courses. For this reason a course takes place in groups of max. six persons or individually. In pleasant surroundings you follow a course which takes into account your personal objectives and possibilities. Our courses are characterised by a large variety of tasks and working methods. They offer much “language”. As a result, you reach a higher level of language skills. You get much personal attention and guidance of an experienced and competent NT2 teacher.

Reteach offers the following courses:

·         Elementary courses:

-          beginners course A0 > A1,

-          beginners course A1 > A2,

-          intermediary course A2 > A2+,

-          intermediary course A2+ > B1,

-          expert course B1 > B1+,

-         expert course B1+ > B2.

·         Partial courses:

-          course Reading skills 1  A2/B1 > B1/B2,

-          course Reading skills 2  B1/B2 > B2/C1,

-          course Fluency B1 > B2,

-          course Written proficiency B1 > B2

 

If you speak Dutch already (however little), but you cannot show to what level you  command the language, you are invited for a proficiency test. This test indicates your language level. This test also indicates for which course you qualify. You do not have to prepare for this.

 

Course lessons take place morning, evening and on Saturday. That can be on location or at the address of Reteach. The starting dates are flexible. Courses start only when fully booked. Courses during holiday periods are also possible, when required.

 

 

Elementary courses

 

To all elementary courses applies:

·         a proficiency level  on the basis of the Common European Framework (CEF),

·         15 lessons of 3 hours (including  pause),

·         each meeting of three hours requires three hours of preparation,

·         at least 4 participants or individually;

·         conclusion  with a  proficiency test or participation to the state examination NT2,

·         you receive a certificate on participation of 80 % of the course;

·         the price is exclusive of  course material. For prices see at Tariffs.

 

Beginners course final level  A1

 

Course description

In this course all basic skills are discussed: speech,  aural, written and reading. Basic Dutch grammar and vocabulary are addressed. Every day language use is practised through conversation and textual use. Formal and informal language is practised using real-life situations. You also become acquainted with Dutch culture and society.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You haven’t been in the Netherlands long and you don‘t speak the Dutch language. Or very little. Your starting level is therefore A0. However, you speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Beginners course final level  A2

 

Course description

In this course all basic skills are covered: speech, aural, written and reading. Your knowledge of Dutch grammar and vocabulary is increased. Using dialogues and texts concerning every day life in the Netherlands, every day language use is practiced By means of real situations both formal and informal language use is covered.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You master demonstrable level A1.You have been in the Netherlands for a short time and you speak the Dutch language only a little.You also speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Intermediary course final level  A2+

 

Course description

In this course much attention is payed to communication skills. Especially speech and written.Your knowledge of Dutch grammar is strongly increased.Using real situations both formal and informal language use is practised. Using texts you discuss with  other participants different aspects of Dutch society.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You master demonstrable level A2.You have been in the Netherlands for a while now and you speak the Dutch language a little.You also speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Intermediary course final level  B1

 

Course description

In this course much attention will be payed to communication skills. Written skills are also taken into account by means of varied writing tasks. You extend your knowledge of grammar. Attention will be paid to Dutch idiom as well. Using texts you discuss with the other participants different aspects of Dutch society. By means of real situations both formal and informal language use is practised. During the course exercises are done in preparation for the NT2 program 1 examination.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You master demonstrable level A2+.You have been in the Netherlands for some time.You already have a good knowledge of the Dutch language and you speak it a little.You also speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Expert course final level B1+

Course description

In this course writing skills  are further developed. That happens by writing various texts, such as letters, essays and notes. Using texts you discuss with the other participants various subjects. This is done using authentic texts and newspaper articles. Using real situations you practise both informal and business language use.During the course exercises are done in preparation for the NT2 program 2 examination.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You master demonstrable level B1. So you already have a good knowledge of the Dutch language.You also speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Expert course final level B2

 

Course description

In this course attention will be given especially to writing skills concerning different texts, conversation concerning several subjects and making presentations. Using real situations you practise both informal and business language use. During the course exercises are done in preparation for the NT2 program 2 examination.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated foreign speaker. So someone who concluded  their secondary education in the country of origin. Sometimes completed with some years secondary or higher vocational training or university education. You master demonstrable level B1+. So you already have a good knowledge of the Dutch language.You also speak English, German or French. You are eager to qualify for a job or you want to follow a training in the Netherlands. However your command of Dutch is not sufficient for that.

 

Partial courses

 

To all partial courses applies:

·         a proficiency level on the basis of the Common European Framework (CEF),

·         4 to 6 participants or individually;

·         the number of hours homework is equal to the number of hours you attend lessons;

·         conclusion  with a proficiency test, asssignment or participation to the NT2  examination;

·         you receive a certificate on participation of 80 % of the course;

Course Reading skills 1  final level B1/B2

 

Course description

This course seeks to increase reading ability through increasing Dutch vocabulary. Also a beginning is made with acquiring a good reading strategy. The goal is the NT2 program 1 examination. The course is suitable for you if you want to follow a secondary or higher vocational training or university education in the Netherlands.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated adult foreign speaker of whom the language skill lies between level A2 and level B1 of the Common European Framework (level 2, NT2). You have done a beginners course. The basic vocabulary of the 1000 most common Dutch words is known by you. You have some knowledge of the structure of Dutch sentences.

 

Number of lessons

30 lessons of 2 hours (including  pause).

 

Course Reading skills 2  final level B2/C1

 

Course description

This course seeks to increase reading ability. That happens by increasing Dutch vocabulary. Also a lot of attention is payed to a good reading strategy. The goal is the NT2 program 2 examination. The course is suitable for you  if you want to follow a secondary or higher vocational training or university education in the Netherlands.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated adult foreign speaker of whom the language skill lies between level B1 and level B2 of the Common European Framework (level 3, NT2). You have done a course for semi-advanced participants.You have reasonable grasp of Dutch sentence structure.

 

Number of lessons

30 lessons of 2 hours (including  pause).

 

Course Fluency final level B2

 

Course description

Group conversations take place, where:

  • you learn how to argue,
  • you learn how to give your opinion,
  • you learn how to draw comparisons,
  • you learn how to describe things,
  • you learn how to give instructions,
  • you learn how to express doubt,
  • you learn how to give a presentation,
  • there is attention  paid to pronunciation and intonation,
  • there is attention  paid to Dutch grammar and vocabulary.

This course also offers you  the possibility to prepare for the component Speaking of the examinations NT2 program 1 and 2.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated adult foreign speaker of whom the language skill lies on minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework (level 2, NT2). You want to follow a secondary or higher vocational training or university education in the Netherlands or you talk and discuss a great deal at work

 

Number of lessons

20 lessons of one hour.

 

Course Written proficiency final level B2

 

Course description

Improving your writing skills. The following matters are practised:

  • introducing text structure and subparagraphs,
  • showing relations using  indicator words,
  • writing formal and informal letters,
  • formulating your opinion and giving arguments for this,
  • using your dictionary well,
  • teaching yourself  how to consider and correct texts.

This course also offers you  the possibility to prepare for the component Writing of the examinations NT2 program 1 and 2.

 

Target group

You are a middle or higher level educated adult foreign speaker of whom the language skill lies on minimum level B1 of the Common European Framework (level 2, NT2). You want to follow a secondary or higher vocational training or university education in the Netherlands or you must write a great deal for work

 

Number of lessons

20 lessons of one hour.
